WhyPark Domain Parking Adds Custom Themes
Domain parking with WhyPark just got a little better. WhyPark is probably one of the best domain parking services on the web with all of the features it offers its clients. One feature it was lacking however was the ability to create custom themes for your parked domains….but not anymore.
WhyPark recently released a new custom layout feature. You can now customize the layout of your parked domains by updating a few forms within your backoffice with your own HTML and style sheet. WhyPark layouts use placeholders to easily populate the content into the template you define. Layouts can be updated with these steps:
- Create your HTML layout in any program you use
- Use the placeholders where you want that content to show on your site. For example, wherever you want the "more articles" section to appear on your page, enter [[related]]. When your page is shown, the [[related]] text will be replaced by the WhyPark content.
- Copy your html starting after the opening body tag and stopping before the closing body tag.
- Paste into the form below
- Click Submit and your site will be updated immediately
The images you use in your layout must be hosted elsewhere, such as a free image hosting service. If you’re on a tight budget you can use photobucket.com or i you have a traditional site you can create a new directory and upload your images there . Then, use the full url to the image in your layout.
Available Placeholders To Use On Your Custom WhyPark Domains:
- [[sitename]] - The name of your website
- [[forsale]] - If your website is for sale, enter this placeholder where you want the "this site is for sale" link to appear
- [[textads]] - When you add text ads through the Earn Revenue section of WhyPark, your text ads will be shown in place of this placeholder
- [[related]] - Each page shows up to 15 related articles and content to help make your site more unique. Use the [[related]] placeholder to insert this content into your layout
- [[whypark]] - If you entered your Clickbank login into the Account section, you will earn revenue when someone clicks from your website and then signs up for WhyPark. The [[whypark]] placeholder shows this affiliate link
- [[mainbody]] - This is the main text on each page; for example the full article, home page article summaries, site map, etc.
This is a really smart move by WhyPark within the domain parking world. In my opinion they offer the best value or your dollar compared to other domain parking services who keep a percentage of your revenues, while offering you very little room for customization.
