New Google Adsense Link Units?

The folks over at the Google Adsense Team seem to be pretty busy this first quarter of 2013.  At the end of January Google released a new animated ad format for Adsense.

I haven’t seen this animated Adsense ads out in the wild or on my websites but I don’t think they’re too bad.  I think these animated ads might actually turn out to have a higher CTR instead of the usual boring text but we’ll have to wait on Google to see if these become mainstream.

What I have seen recently on my websites are new Google Adsense Link Units.  Now, I’ve been extremely busy re-designing and migrating Top-Affiliate.com over to a new custom content management system (CMS) so it’s possible I just missed this update months ago.  Anyhow, here’s the new link I’m seeing on my websites.

It will be interesting to see how these new link unit formats perform over the long run but I think the new design is more engaging for users.  What do you think?
